Good to know

Questions, answered.

The things guests ask before they book. If yours is not here, call (435) 946-3400 and we will get you sorted.

Booking and payment

How do deposits and payments work?

You pay a 50 percent deposit when you book. The balance is collected automatically 30 days before check-in. If you book inside 30 days, the full amount is due at booking.

What is the cancellation policy?

It depends what you booked. A single room needs more than 48 hours notice. The whole lodge or Eagle’s Roost needs 30 days. Snowmobile and UTV rentals are non-refundable unless you added Cancellation Protection when you booked, which is $50 and refunds everything else.

Your 50 percent deposit is not refunded either way, but it becomes a credit good for two years. Cancel by calling (435) 946-3400. It cannot be done online. Full policy at beavercreeklodge.com/cancellation-policy.

What if the weather turns on our trip?

We will work with you to move your trip to other dates, this season or next. If we are the ones who have to cancel, which is rare, you get your money back. If the forecast looks rough and you decide not to come, we will help you find new dates rather than refund it.

Can I move my dates instead of cancelling?

Yes. You get one courtesy reschedule per reservation, based on what is open. Ask at least 48 hours ahead for a room, a rental, or a package, or 30 days ahead for the whole lodge or Eagle’s Roost. New lodging dates need to fall within two years of your original payment, and rentals have to be rebooked in the same season.

When are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is 3 PM and check-out is 11 AM.

What if we arrive late?

Stop by the front desk when you get here so we know you made it in. If you are rolling in after 5 PM and the office has closed, your door code gets you straight into your room and you can catch us in the morning.

Holiday weeks

Which dates count as holiday weeks?

Midweek discounts do not apply during these stretches, and rates are full price every day of the week: Christmas through New Year’s (December 20 to January 2), Martin Luther King weekend (January 16 to 19), Presidents week (February 13 to 22), and spring break at the end of March (March 18 to April 1).

For Eagle’s Roost, midweek discounts skip December 20 to January 5.

Snowmobiles

How old do you have to be to rent or drive a snowmobile?

Renting: 21 or older. The person renting the sleds is responsible for the group and stays with any minors on the ride.

Driving: 16 or older with a valid driver’s license. Riders under 16 can drive with a Utah youth OHV certificate, which is an online course through Utah State Parks. Passengers can be any age, and minors ride with a parent or guardian.

How many people can ride one snowmobile?

Snowmobiles cannot have more than 2 riders under any circumstances, and the Summit Edge 850 Turbo is always single-rider.

What comes with a Stay n’ Play package?

Your room, the snowmobile, a flat daily fuel charge, meals, and damage coverage, with a 10 percent discount on the snowmobile rental built in. Rooms are booked per room and the riding side is priced per person. Taxes and fees are extra.

How do riding days line up with nights?

Riding days run 9 AM to 5 PM and start the morning after you check in, so a stay books one fewer riding day than nights. One night gets you one full day on the snow.

Do I need a guide?

No. Our trails and terrain suit everyone from total beginners to experienced riders. If you want one, guides are $329 for a half day or $569 for a full day, one guide for up to nine riders.

How does fuel work?

Packages include a flat daily fuel charge in the price. Standalone rentals are metered on actual use, so you only pay for what you burn.

When is snowmobile season?

December 20 to April 15, snow permitting.

Meals (winter only)

How do meal packages work?

Meal packages are a winter thing. They come with snowmobile packages during the December 20 to April 15 season, and we do not run them in the summer. Meals begin the morning after you arrive and cover each full riding day: a hot breakfast in the lodge dining room, a packable lunch to take on the trail, and a chef-prepared dinner each evening. Dinner is not included on check-in night, but you can add it with 24 hours notice.

Can you handle dietary restrictions?

Yes. Tell us about any restrictions or allergies in advance and we will cook around them.

What if we are not on a meal plan?

Head down the canyon to Garden City. Mike’s Market covers groceries, and for a sit-down meal Bear Trapper in town and Cooper’s at Bear Lake West, just over the Idaho line, are both open year round. A lot more places open up for the summer.

Rooms

How many people fit in a room?

Rooms are one flat rate per room, and most sleep up to four guests. Room #7 has a single queen and sleeps two. All together the lodge holds up to 46 people across 12 rooms and 29 beds.

What is in the room?

A private bathroom with an oversized tub or a large walk-in shower, MyComfort Intelli-Gel beds with soft linens, a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker, and a 50 inch flat screen with satellite. The common room downstairs has billiards, shuffleboard and a stone fireplace.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, and it is free for guests.

Can we book one room, or do we need the whole lodge?

Either one. Rooms book individually, and groups can take all twelve rooms with the kitchen, game room, firepit and lawn to themselves. Eagle’s Roost is a separate eight-bedroom cabin about five minutes up the road.

Is there a kitchen we can use?

Every room has a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The full kitchen comes with a whole-lodge rental, and Eagle’s Roost has its own full kitchen and grill.

Do you have an accessible room?

Room 6 is our ADA accessible room. There is no elevator in the lodge, but a ramp brings you in level with that room, and it has a walk-in shower. Call us at (435) 946-3400 before you book and we will make sure it works for you.

Do you allow pets?

No pets at the lodge or at Eagle’s Roost.

Is there air conditioning?

No. We sit high enough in Logan Canyon that the nights cool off on their own.

During your stay

Do you clean the room while we are here?

No, we do not do housekeeping mid-stay. If you need fresh towels, swap them at the front desk or flag down housekeeping and we will get you a set.

Are there quiet hours?

Yes, 10 PM to 7 AM. Most of the lodge is up early for a ride.

Can we use the firepit?

Yes, whenever fire restrictions allow, and those follow current state and county rules so ask us when you check in. We set you up with the firepit, fire starter, lighter and fluid, and roasting sticks.

Who do we contact if we need something?

The front desk at (435) 946-3400 during the day. After hours, there is a sign in the downstairs lobby with who to call.

Summer

How old do you have to be to rent a UTV?

21 or older with a valid driver’s license. That goes for everyone driving a machine. Passengers can be any age, and minors ride with a parent or guardian.

Do you serve meals in the summer?

No. Meal packages run in the winter with snowmobile packages. Summer guests head down the canyon to Garden City for groceries and restaurants, and Eagle’s Roost has a full kitchen if you are booking the cabin.

When is UTV season?

May 11 to October 31. Late September is the one to circle, when the whole canyon turns gold.

Do you have group discounts on UTVs?

Yes. Renting two or more machines earns 5 to 25 percent off, and the codes are listed on the UTV rentals page. Enter your code at checkout.

What to pack

Winter riding
  • Moisture-wicking base layers. Skip cotton, it stays wet.
  • A fleece or wool mid layer.
  • Waterproof bib and jacket.
  • Insulated waterproof gloves, plus a spare pair.
  • Warm waterproof boots.
  • Helmet and goggles.
  • A balaclava or neck gaiter.
  • Hand warmers, sunscreen, and lip balm. The sun works overtime off the snow.
Summer UTV rides
  • Closed-toe shoes.
  • Sunglasses or goggles, and a hat for stops.
  • Sunscreen.
  • A light jacket. Canyon mornings run cold, even in July.
  • A buff or bandana for dust.
  • Water for everyone in the machine.
  • Swimsuit and towel if Bear Lake or Bloomington Lake is on the plan.

Getting here

Where do we park?

Cars go in the lot behind the lodge. We would rather have trailers down in the lower lot closer to the highway, and cars are welcome down there too.

Is there cell service?

Not much. Signal is spotty to nonexistent up the canyon, and there is none to speak of at Eagle’s Roost. The lodge has free Wi-Fi, so plan on that for staying in touch.

Do we need four wheel drive in winter?

We recommend four wheel drive or all wheel drive from December through April. The canyon road is maintained all winter, but storms move in fast and it gets slick. Check the forecast the morning you drive up.

Where are you?

12800 US-89, Garden City, Utah, right in Logan Canyon between Logan and Bear Lake. Beaver Mountain is just up the road, and you ride out the front door.

Before you arrive

  • Cell service is thin. Expect little to no signal once you are up the canyon. The lodge has free Wi-Fi, and Eagle’s Roost has no service to speak of.
  • Canyon weather turns fast. Check the forecast the morning you drive up, whatever the season.
  • Bring four wheel drive in winter. December through April, 4WD or AWD is the way to come.
  • Food is not next door. Garden City is where the groceries and restaurants are, so stock up on the way in.
  • Pack for the ride. Winter and summer lists are up in What to pack.
  • Check in with the front desk. Let us know when you get here. If you arrive after 5 PM and the office is closed, your door code gets you into your room.
