Backcountry guides

Ride with someone who knows where the snow is.

Our guides are trained professionals with years of riding and teaching in this backcountry. You ride better, travel smarter, and see more of Logan Canyon.

Deep terrain knowledge, strong safety foundations, and a talent for reading conditions. A guide is the difference between riding the trail and riding the canyon.

Nate Smoot
Nate Smoot
Professional backcountry guide

Nate has been riding the mountains around Logan Canyon and Bear Lake for more than twenty years, and it shows. He started guiding at Beaver Creek Lodge back in the early 2000s and learned the terrain the old-fashioned way: chasing storms, digging out friends, and figuring out what the snow is really doing on any given day. Solid avalanche training, and a knack for breaking things down in a way that actually makes sense. He is probably best known for his Smooter Booters, the jumps he finds or builds no matter how tracked-out the mountain looks.
